American Bone Health teaches people how to build and keep strong and healthy bones for life with practical and up-to-date information and resources to engage, educate and empower them to prevent bone loss, osteoporosis and fractures.

WHY GIVING DAY? Giving Day is the day each year when American Bone Health celebrates its anniversary—2023 marks 33 years! And supporters show their appreciation of bone health education. It’s an opportunity for the organization to raise a substantial amount of funds in a single day to support immediate needs for bone health education.
More than 54 million people in the U.S. have osteoporosis or low bone density. These people are at increased risk of having broken bones that can take their independence and keep them from doing what they enjoy. One in two women and one in four men over age 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis. American Bone Health is teaching people about their personal bone health and the steps they can take to protect their bone health.
IMPACT OF AMERICAN BONE HEALTH. Recent research shows that our programs, tools, and resources have been effective at increasing knowledge, improving attitudes, and influencing motivations and behaviors around bone health. This is huge! It shows that American Bone Health is a trusted source of information and guidance when it comes to bone health management.
