Registered Dietitian

Caroline Thomason is a Registered Dietitian, diabetes educator, and CDC Lifestyle Coach with the Diabetes and Endocrinology department at Wake Forest Baptist Health. She works with both pediatric and adult patients to improve their quality of life through nutrition. She is passionate about diabetes prevention and holistic wellness. In her free time, you can find Caroline checking out a local farmer’s market, walking her puppy, cooking in her kitchen, or on a road trip to a new place!

Anne Lake, DNP, ONP-C, FNP-C, CCD

Fracture Liaison Service Clinician/Coordinator

Anne is a nationally recognized bone health specialist who joined Wake Forest Baptist Health in 2013 to develop a comprehensive Fracture Liaison Service. She has an active practice as the Fracture Liaison Clinician and Coordinator. She has been an advisor/consultant for the National Osteoporosis Foundation and the National Bone Health Alliance regarding osteoporosis awareness and secondary fracture prevention as it relates to Fracture Liaison Service Quality Care Programs since 2010. In 2017 she was elected to the Board of Trustees for the National Osteoporosis Foundation and has been a longtime board member of the North Carolina Osteoporosis Foundation. In addition, she is currently the co-chair for the Quality and Outcomes Committee for the National Osteoporosis Foundation and serves as the medical director for NBHA Project Echo on Bone Health.

Anne holds a current certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Credentialing Association as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is a certified Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner from the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses. She holds an FLS certificate from the National Osteoporosis Foundation and is a certified CCD through the International Society of Clinical Densitometry. She is the current writer and educator for the metabolic bone health section for the Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner Certification Review course and has served as a manuscript reviewer for several elite journals including Osteoporosis International.

She is a published author in the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery on “Establishing a Fracture Liaison Service: An orthopaedic approach and is a reviewer for the Osteoporosis International Journal.
