Program Overview

Our trained Peer Educators screen adults over age 45 and educate them about how to reduce the risk of having a fracture. Using our web-based FORE Fracture Risk Calculator™, they capture factors such as age, weight, fracture history, medications and medical conditions and generate a graph that shows the individual’s risk of breaking a bone in the next 10 years.

Peer Educators take that information and discuss steps for better bone health, including nutrition; strength, balance and posture exercises; fall prevention strategies; further diagnosis; or medical treatments, if necessary.

“I am so grateful to Sarah for helping me understand calcium – I was taking too much and I didn’t know.”   Mary Ann, age 71 – Tucson, AZ
