RALEIGH, N.C. – American Bone Health is proud to welcome Dr. Nancy E. Lane as a new member of its Medical and Scientific Advisory Board. Lane, a distinguished and endowed professor of Medicine, Rheumatology and Aging at the University of California Davis School of Medicine and director of the university’s Center for Musculoskeletal Health, will join other experts on the board in advising American Bone Health, a nonprofit educational organization, on the latest in relevant science and research.
“We are honored to have Dr. Lane join the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board of American Bone Health and welcome her perspective as our first rheumatologist,” said Kathleen Cody, Executive Director of American Bone Health. “Dr. Lane’s extraordinary career underscores her passion for patients with osteoporosis.”
The MSAB is a vital resource for American Bone Health, helping ensure that the community-based organization provides up-to-the-minute evidence-based information to help people build and maintain strong, healthy bones for life.
Dr. Lane is active in research, education and the treatment of patients with osteoporosis. She is especially knowledgeable in glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis etiology and treatments. Dr. Lane has published nearly 400 manuscripts and reviews for several scientific journals. She is a current member of the International Osteoporosis Foundation Board of Scientific Advisors and an elected member of the Board of the Osteoarthritis and Cartilage Research Society. She was previously elected to the council of the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research.
