Kelcy Walker Pope, DrPH, joins American Bone Health’s Board of Directors

RALEIGH, N.C. — American Bone Health is proud to announce that Kelcy Walker Pope, DrPH, recently joined its Board of Directors.

Dr. Pope is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Public Health and Exercise Science at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, N.C. Her research areas of interest are health disparities, chronic disease and health behavior among minority groups. She has also worked with the National Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention for the Veterans Administration.

“We look forward to benefiting from Kelcy Walker Pope’s expertise and perspective as she serves on the American Bone Health Board of Directors,” said Kathleen Cody, executive director of American Bone Health. “The organization’s educational mission is increasingly focused on how chronic disease and lifestyle factors affect bone health in underserved populations, so Dr. Pope’s background in teaching and researching this topic will provide us with valuable guidance.” 

American Bone Health’s Board of Directors is a committed group of volunteers with a wealth of experience in community service, education, business and health care. The Board provides governance for the organization and strategic guidance to ensure American Bone Health’s programs fulfill its mission and deliver maximum positive impact to the communities it serves.
